It was another lovely day here in Germany, worthy of wearing cropped jeans and a tank top. This obviously led to a small adventure about 30 minutes away to the small city of Mainz, right on the Rhein River. It wasn't necessarily the town we expected, but it offered a medieval market in the old town square, rustic red sandstone cathedrals, and adorable half-timbered buildings around too many corners.

Mainz sits in Germany's largest wine growing region, Rheinhessen - also home to the deliciously popular Riesling wine. Unfortunately we didn't have time or easy access to the vineyards nearby, so we settled for purchasing our own adorable bottle of Riesling wine from the Marktbrunnen. However, this just calls for another trip to taste more wine later!

This was the cutest thing! Two young boys had all their news equipment set up to interview this lady, running a booth. Reporters in the making!
