Eltz Castle had been on my list to see since before we arrived in Germany. It's one of the top castles around in the area and is conveniently only an hour and a half drive away. Lucas jetted off to Russia earlier in the day, so I decided to avoid sitting in the apartment all day doing school work and headed to check out this picturesque castle.

It's been getting colder and colder these days, so the scenery surrounding the Castle was the essence of a crisp Fall day. I've concluded that a view is truly beautiful when it doesn't have to be seen in the hot Summer sun or covered in a fresh, wintery blanket of snow - but when its beauty can be seen in the cold and among the dead trees. It's like a girl who is just as beautiful without her make-up on! That's when you know its truly beautiful. (Yes, I just compared a German castle to a girl with no make-up on).

Unfortunately the inside of the Castle was closed, so I could only admire the outside, but it was still a wonderful trip. Once I parked, I was either able to take a shuttle bus up to the Castle or take a 15-minute walk through the orange, Fall forest path, so I opted for the brisk walk and I would definitely recommend it.
