First off, thank you for coming to my page and seeing what I'm all about.

My name is Holly VanBerkel, and I am a Calgary and Edmonton area-based photographer. I'm a proud wife to my wonderful husband, Lucas, a mom to two precious littles, and I hold a genuine heart for showing the love of Christ to the world, as well as who He is and what He is about.

As I finished my Masters in Counselling and Certification as a Canadian Counsellor, I've slowly learned the necessity of community, deep relationships, the power of understanding and empathy, as well as learning about yourself and the people around you. Life isn't always easy, so build yourself around wonderful people!

I've loved and enjoyed sports all my life, which is fortunate since my husband and I have lived abroad for months of the year in Europe as he pursues his own dream in Professional Volleyball. I have been so grateful for the opportunities to explore incredible places in all corners of Europe, all while having my best friend there to adventure with. I've started to develop a deep passion for exploring, and I will do anything (almost) to find the perfect view!

 

Before I switched to Psychology in my undergrad degree, I was pursuing art; photography is my art. I love creating something beautiful out of a view, or telling a story through an image of a couple or a family. I find it a privilege that someone would let me in to capture his or her life in a beautiful, artistic way. I also find it a privilege to get to explore this world enough to capture its sometimes-hidden beauty. 

I absolutely love finding natural light, rich colours, beautiful people and some favourite environments to create that artistic perspective. My photos might not be for everyone, but I would love to share them with those of you who enjoy my style!
